Domaine Saint-Alimant
AOP Rasteau

Domaine Saint-Alimant, acquired in 1958, is in a small hamlet surrounded by vines, on the banks of the Ouvèze south of the village of Rasteau. The name, which was the name of an old house that owes its existence to the ford over the river and the toll gate of La Traverse, means “there is nothing at all”!
Terroir
The vines are north of the plateau of Plan de Dieu. The soils are composed of a mix of gravel, outcrops of red or brown earth, and stony limestone clay.
Grape varieties
Grenache, Syrah.
Wine profiles
This terroir gives bright, highly coloured, powerful wines. The nose is expressive, with cherry jam, smoky and peppery notes. A rich, chewy, mellow wine.
