This Domaine was acquired in 1951, and previously formed part of the personal estate of the Prince of Orange. Its name \u2013 Gardiole \u2013 (from Garde, to keep, and Eole, the wind) most certainly comes from its position, perched with a 360\u00b0 view of the Rhone, the Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail. A magical situation with an immense diversity of soils, characteristic of the Ch\u00e2teauneuf-du-Pape appellation.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n

Round pebbles and sand to the north of the de Ch\u00e2teauneuf-du-Pape appellation, at Courth\u00e9zon. The parcels of this Domaine sit on stony soils of limestone rocks over a sandy subsoil.<\/p>\n

Safres to the north northwest of the appellation.<\/strong>
\nThese safres of the Miocene are composed of fine-grained sedimentary sand deposited in the Miocene Sea between the Alps and the Massif Central at the end of the Tertiary period. The wines from these sandy soils are diaphanous, with good fruit, extremely fine tannins and a tactile, crystalline texture.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n

This terroir produces rich, elegant wines of medium to deep colour, with dominantly floral notes (rose) on the nose, and fruity raspberry and blackcurrant notes. In the mouth they are full-bodied and powerful, complex, intense, elegant and silky, from their youth.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
